Thursday Morning Update...
  • We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the Alamo City family and the surrounding community. Alamo City has received many financial contributions, non-perishable food items, clothing, personal hygiene products, etc. By God's mercy and your faithfulness, the ongoing needs of evacuees in San Antonio continue to be met.

For example, because of financial contributions that have come in, just a few days ago we were able to send the Alamo City box truck over to Sam's and purchase supplies that were much needed at the Windsor Park Mall Shelter. (Management personnel at Sam's even asked if we could take some items with us that they were needing to get over to the shelter!) Our God is truly an amazing God!

  • RELATED: We are asking that, at least for now, no more clothing items be brought to the Alamo City Christian Fellowship facility. Once again, because of God's mercy and your faithfulness, the Alamo City Clothing Room overflows!

Financial contributions, non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products (purchased new, please) are still being accepted.

  • Conversations and meetings are ongoing concerning the "sponsoring of evacuees." Alamo City leadership is participating in this continuing dialog. Please pray and, Lord willing, we will soon be able to let you know how you can participate.

  • VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Alamo City volunteers are needed to assist Blood-n-Fire at Kelly USA.

The Blood-n-Fire Kitchen Trailer is operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to feed the SAPD, Firemen, Texas Guard, and other peace keeping officers at Kelly USA.

These groups are currently working 12 hour shifts that begin at 6 am. They are really hungry by noon!

    What can you do?

    • YOU can put together a team of 4-6 and provide a meal for our peacekeepers using the BnF Kitchen.
    • You would need to bring your meal cooked, and then keep it warm in the BnF Kitchen Trailer.
    • Arrive 9 am (depending on what needs to be done to get your food ready to serve) and leave around 2 pm.
    • You should prepare for 100-150.
    • With a group effort it can be done!
    • BnF will add more days as more volunteers become available.

The kitchen is parked on site at Kelly in a secured area.

Please reply ASAP to reserve your date and let us know what you plan to feed the Peace Keeping Forces at Kelly!

Contact : Jeanne Jester, BnF Volunteer Coordinator: jjbloodnfire@earthlink.net or 210-334-5496.

Please check this site regularly. Changes happen quickly as needs shift.

Please e-mail any questions, suggestions, etc. to the Alamo City Christian Fellowship at worship@alamocity.org

James 2:15-17 "If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Go in peace, be warmed and filled,' without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."

Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
