Thursday Evening Update...
  • Please continue to pray for the evacuees from New Orleans.
  • Please continue to support the Katrina Relief Effort financially. Monitary contributions are being accepted at the Alamo City Christian Fellowship office located at 6500 IH35 North, San Antonio, TX 78218.
  • Rumors are rising about the potential closure of the Windsor Park Mall Shelter as early as this weekend. At present, we are unable to confirm this. Therefore, we are continuing to ask Alamo City folks to volunteer at this location. The volunteer entrance is located on the south-side of the old Montgomery Wards store, second floor.
  • To volunteer your time at all locations, or to offer someone a job, or to donate a vehicle, etc., please call 211. For those outside San Antonio (or if you are calling on a cell phone) please call (210) 227-4357.
  • At this time, many people have donated clothing to the Katrina Relief Effort. What a generous congregation the Alamo City family is! Before donating any clothes, please know that it is always helpful to sort, fold and place items in containers separately. Also, please write on the outside of each container the type of clothing items enclosed. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
  • Alamo City is accepting material donations be taken to the Windsor Park Mall Shelter as needed. Items we are currently requesting are: Personal Hygiene Items (for both males and females), Baby Formula, Diapers, New Linens, New Blankets and New Pillows.
  • The city-wide Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort has already placed an increased burden upon the San Antonio Food Bank. So, we are asking Alamo City folks to consider bringing canned goods and other non-perishable food items to the Alamo City facility to be stocked in the Support Saturday Food Room. Support Saturday continues to be held on the first and third Saturday of each month. Many individuals and families from around San Antonio are ministered to through this significant ministry.
Please check this site regularly. Changes happen quickly as needs shift.

Please e-mail any questions, suggestions, etc. to the Alamo City Christian Fellowship at worship@alamocity.org.

Or feel free to post a comment right here on the blog.

James 2:15-17 "If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Go in peace, be warmed and filled,' without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."

Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
