Saturday Morning Update...

  • Questions have been asked about Alamo City Christian Fellowship people actually going as a group to Louisiana, Mississippi, and/or Alabama to help in the Katrina Relief Effort.

The answer is, "Yes, Alamo City will be going to the gulf coastal region to lend assistance in the Katrina Relief Effort." But - not right away.

We are currently concentrating our efforts locally since there are immediate needs in San Antonio with evacuees. And with the Windsor Park Shelter being literally 5 minutes (or less!) from the Alamo City facility, it would seem that the Holy Spirit is bringing opportunities for ministry directly to our door. For example, a group of Alamo City ladies led a Bible Study for evacuees at a nearby restaurant on Walzem Road yesterday morning and several ladies from the Windsor Park Shelter attended. They were blessed and ministered to.

There will be an appropriate time for Alamo City to "go to the region." For now, the Lord is bringing "the region" to us.

In the meantime, a sign-up sheet will be available beginning this Sunday morning in the Alamo City crossway for people (men, women and families) to indicate their desire to be involved when we do actually go to the gulf coast.
Please check this site regularly. Changes happen quickly as needs shift.

Please e-mail any questions, suggestions, etc. to the Alamo City Christian Fellowship at worship@alamocity.org.

James 2:15-17 "If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Go in peace, be warmed and filled,' without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."

Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
