Monday Morning Update...
The following testimony report was emailed to us early this morning from Susie Roye of Blood-n-Fire:
"Saturday I picked up a lady named LaRhonda, a mother of five small children. LaRhonda worked for the Times-Picayune Newspaper in New Orleans, operating the machine that bundles the papers for distribution. Her husband worked as a cook at a local restaurant. Their family has now been moved to a duplex from the shelter. I was able to take LaRhonda to our warehouse where she got new pillows, sheets, pillowcases, clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies, food, new blankets, diapers and more diapers, and an assortment of new toys for her kids. We put the back seat down in my SUV, and it was full top to bottom, back to front! When we got back to the duplex, her whole family helped unload the car, and they were all really excited.
Saturday I also took a lady and her 13 year old niece shopping, just to get out a little bit. As we drove around town the adorable 13 year old girl told me how they spent 5 days at the Convention Center in New Orleans, and how she stayed sick for those five days, and was so scared....and then finally a helicopter came for them. I wish I could reach inside her and erase all those memories.....she is such a pretty girl and so full of life. We had a fun day, they enjoyed getting out and seeing the city."
PLEASE email your Katrina - Rita photos and stories to worship@alamocity.org. They provide such great encouragement to everyone!
Thank you for continuing to pray and participate.
